My name is Dave Brown. I was born and raised in Maryland. In 2001 I married one of my best friends and over the years I have been completely humbled by my wife’s faith and love. Indeed I married above what I deserve and I am undoubtedly a better man because of her.

Over the years God has blessed our family with four delightful daughters and a son; yes the boy and I are far outnumbered! As parents, we have learned so much of the heart of God and what it means to depend upon Him through marriage and family life. One thing is certain, we will never be perfect, but we can be prayerful spouses and parents. “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain” (Psalm 127:1). It is only God’s amazing grace that sustains us.

God has allowed me to be in ministry since 1995. I started serving God through teaching the Bible to middle school youth. I fell in love with leading young people to know Jesus and God’s Word. Since then I have grown in experience and education.

I have a bachelors degree in Communication Arts from Carson Newman College (Tennessee), and a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (North Carolina). I also have several credits toward a Doctor of Ministry at SEBTS. Any personal education for me is truly a work of God’s grace as one growing up who disliked books, academic work, and having a teacher tell my parents I’d never go to college due to the level of my reading comprehension! Perseverance in hard work can pay off to accomplish much, but it is the Lord who establishes our steps.

God has provided me a variety of experiences in youth ministry, leadership, and pastoral ministry through churches in Maryland, Tennessee, North Carolina, and in my current ministry in Severna Park, Maryland. I have preached the gospel in 4 countries: United States, Canada, Nicaragua, and Cuba. God called me to Severna Park in December 2009 and this community of faith has become home for us. It is our hope to spend a lifetime of growing godly generations with impact among our neighbors and by God’s grace even to other nations.
